Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 1st Shift Journeyman Tool and Die Maker I to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 761.

• Requires the operation and set-up of all types of machines in the Tool Room both manual and CNC including the Operation of the Wire EDM and Esprit Cad Cam Software.
• Requires ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions.
• Requires ability to comprehend/interpret all types of blueprints and specifications.
• Requires ability to also when needed to perform all of the grinding duties if so needed.
• Requires knowledge of all types of measuring equipment used in the Tool Room.
• Requires the ability for the process and operation of machines used in the Tool Room and also training of other personnel.
• Requires routine maintenance of machines, which will include the oiling of machines.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department in a prescribed manner.
• Required to have various types of Toolmaker tools needed to perform their assigned tasks. This can include micrometers, calipers, 6" scale, protractor/square, 1-2-3 blocks
and a toolbox with most of the tools required to perform their job requirements.
• All work is subject to final inspection.
• Tolerances to be held to .0005

Education and/or Experience - Two-year certificate from college or technical school; or eighteen to twenty-four months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, Blueprints and procedure manuals. Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Have the ability to communicate effectively.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Have the ability to use trigonometry and some basic geometry skills.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Have the ability to deal effectively with routine problems and situations.
