The Licensed Psychologist Manager with the Department of Corrections (DOC) offers a rewarding and challenging career leading mental health services at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Mahanoy. This role places you at the center of one of the largest mental health treatment systems. You guide clinical practices, strengthen services, and support inmates who rely on quality psychological care. This position allows you to influence operations and contribute to long-term improvements across the facility.
This position manages mental health programs and clinical services that assist inmates at SCI Mahanoy. The role provides leadership in evaluation, counseling, and program development. As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections, you will perform the following duties:
- Staff Oversight: Supervise psychological staff and support evaluations, therapeutic interventions, and crisis response
- Program Management: Develop and guide mental health programs while integrating new policies and procedures
- Committee Leadership: Lead or participate on review teams and committees that support assessment, safety, and treatment planning
- Clinical Review: Evaluate test interpretations and prepare detailed psychological and behavioral reports
- Consultation Support: Advise managers and staff on mental health concerns and treatment planning for specialized units
- Accreditation Compliance: Maintain standards for psychological services and provide expert testimony when required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
- You must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
