Assoc Mgr Food Quality & Safety
- Lead and improve sanitation programs and cleaning processes across the facility.
- Supervise sanitation team members across multiple shifts while fostering a strong culture of safety and food safety.
- Support food safety, quality, SQF, FSMA, Organic, and Gluten-Free certification requirements.
- Monitor and verify sanitation activities to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sanitation performance and operational efficiency.
- Train and develop team members on sanitation procedures, SSOPs, and best practices.
- Partner with Quality and Operations teams to support plant goals and regulatory compliance.
- Identify risks, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.
What will you do?
- Lead and standardize sanitation processes, cleaning practices, and sanitation programs across the facility.
- Supervise sanitation personnel across four shifts while promoting a strong safety and food safety culture.
- Support and maintain FSMA Preventive Controls, SQF requirements, Organic and Gluten-Free certifications, and pest control programs.
- Monitor, verify, and validate sanitation activities to ensure products meet quality and food safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and performance metrics, including sanitation audit scores and 5S programs.
- Develop, maintain, and train employees on sanitation procedures, SSOPs, and plant sanitation requirements.
- Partner with Quality and Operations teams to support SQF certification and achieve business objectives.
- Provide leadership during food safety or sanitation deviations and drive corrective actions when risks are identified
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across departments.
- Ability to initiate and implement process improvements with limited resources.
- Strong understanding of biological, chemical, and physical hazards in a production environment.
- Good problem-solving, corrective action, and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- SQF Practitioner certification.
- HACCP certification.
- PCQI certification.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, ERP implementation, or quality process integration.
