This role focuses on mechanical assembly, manual packaging, and shipping preparation in a busy warehouse and production environment. You will use hand and power tools to assemble products, securely package finished goods, and occasionally operate a reach truck to move pallets, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of polymer insulators using hand and power tools, tightening nuts and bolts to meet quality specifications.
- Prepare assembled units for shipment by verifying they are structurally sound and ready for packaging.
- Securely pack finished products into shipping boxes in accordance with company packaging guidelines.
- Operate a reach truck forklift occasionally to safely move, stage, and stack pallets throughout the warehouse.
- Label and organize boxed products to ensure accurate and efficient handoff to the shipping department.
- Handle materials safely, including loading and unloading items as needed to support warehouse operations.
- Follow all company safety standards and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free assembly and packaging area.
- Report any damaged goods, tool malfunctions, or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor for prompt resolution.
- Perform general physical warehouse duties and other tasks as assigned by management to support overall logistics and production needs.
- Experience with material handling in a warehouse or production environment.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for mechanical assembly tasks.
- Capability to perform packing and general labor tasks, including loading and unloading materials.
- Experience operating a forklift or reach truck, or strong willingness to learn safe forklift operating practices.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects on a regular basis.
- Manual dexterity to operate power tools and handle small hardware such as nuts and bolts accurately.
- Comfort working around moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles with appropriate safety measures.
- Attention to detail when labeling, organizing, and preparing products for shipment.
- Reliability and consistency in following safety procedures and reporting issues promptly.
- Willingness to perform a variety of warehouse duties as needed to support the team.

Work Environment
This position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work in a non-climate-controlled production facility that can be very hot in the summer, and you are allowed to keep water at your workstation to stay hydrated. The environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional fumes or airborne particles, with a noise level that is typically moderate. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
