A dynamic elementary school setting near Cambridge, MA is seeking an experienced paraprofessional to serve as a third-grade classroom assistant. This full-time, contract position starts as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year, with strong potential for renewal for the following academic year.

In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with teachers to foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment. Your guidance will help students thrive—especially those on 504 plans—by providing individualized support in both whole-class and small-group settings.

Key Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional or working in a school environment
  • Background supporting elementary-aged children, preferably in Grade 3 or similar
  • Familiarity with 504 accommodations and strategies to encourage every student’s success
  • Comfortable supporting teacher-led instruction and independently facilitating small groups
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Adaptable and organized, with a positive, student-centered approach

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in developing and implementing activities
  • Work directly with students in small groups and one-on-one settings
  • Provide targeted support to students on 504 plans, helping to ensure their educational needs are met
  • Monitor student engagement and foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate
  • Collaborate with staff to document progress and communicate student needs
