Located near East Greenwich, RI, this position offers consistent morning hours from Monday to Thursday, providing a balanced half-day schedule that allows for both personal and professional flexibility.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional, preferably in a school setting
- RBT certification required or in progress
- Background working with preschool or early childhood-aged children is highly desired
- Knowledge or experience supporting students with unique needs, including those on the autism spectrum
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support and guidance to a preschool student, following individualized education and behavior plans
- Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement behavioral interventions and supports
- Assist with classroom activities and transitions to optimize the learning experience for the student
- Monitor and document progress, communicating updates with the educational team and, when necessary, with caregivers
- Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment
