You will fabricate custom stainless steel systems, follow detailed engineering drawings, and ensure every weld meets strict sanitary and aesthetic standards in a clean, climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel tubing, pipe, and structural components in accordance with project drawings and welding procedures.
  • Weld sanitary process tubing to meet strict cleanliness and quality standards, following all specified welding procedures.
  • Fabricate custom stainless steel equipment, including process skids, tanks, heat exchangers, piping assemblies, and support structures.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, isometric piping drawings, and fabrication prints to plan and execute work accurately.
  • Fit, align, tack, and assemble components prior to final welding to ensure proper fit-up and structural integrity.
  • Perform orbital weld preparation when required, ensuring joints are properly prepared for high-quality welds.
  • Maintain proper weld purge techniques and cleanliness throughout the welding process to achieve high-quality internal and external welds.
  • Inspect completed welds for appearance, penetration, and overall quality, making adjustments as needed to meet specifications.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, belt sanders, drill presses, and layout tools safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support sanitary welding practices and consistent product quality.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of TIG welding experience, preferably with sanitary stainless steel applications.

  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, isometric piping drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication prints.
  • Strong TIG welding skills for stainless steel tubing, pipe, and structural components.
  • Ability to perform accurate fitting, aligning, tacking, and assembly of components prior to welding.
  • Competence in using fabrication tools and equipment, including saws, grinders, belt sanders, drill presses, and layout tools.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining weld purge techniques and cleanliness throughout the welding process.
  • Capability to evaluate welds for appearance, penetration, and overall quality and make necessary corrections.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience welding sanitary process tubing in regulated or cleanliness-focused environments.
  • Background in fabricating process skids, tanks, heat exchangers, piping assemblies, and stainless steel support structures.
  • Familiarity with orbital weld preparation and related tooling.
  • Comfort working from detailed engineering documentation and collaborating with engineering and fabrication teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to custom and one-off fabrication projects.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in welding and fabrication practices.
Why Work Here?

You will join a mission-driven organization that combines innovative biotech and engineering solutions in a collaborative, small-company environment. The team culture encourages cross-functional learning, exposure to cutting-edge technologies, and opportunities to broaden your skills beyond day-to-day welding. You can expect a supportive atmosphere where your craftsmanship is valued and your professional growth is a priority.
