CNC Machinist 28-35 Hr

CNC Machinist – $25–$35/hour

Aerotek is hiring a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in CNC machining, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools.

Job Description:

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
• Program and adjust CNC machines as needed
• Change tooling, clamps, and vices for different jobs
• Perform offsets and properly zero machines
• Read and interpret blueprints and machining specifications
• Conduct first-piece and in-process quality inspections
• Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Produce precision components to tight tolerances

Responsibilities:

• Set up new and existing jobs for machining
• Install and adjust tooling for production runs
• Perform quality checks using correct gauging instruments
• Ensure parts meet blueprint and specification requirements
• Maintain consistent production while prioritizing accuracy
• Obtain required tooling and materials for each job
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in CNC machining, setup, or operation
• Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Proficient with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
