Job Description
CNC Machinist – $25–$35/hour
Aerotek is hiring a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in CNC machining, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools.
Job Description:
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
- Program and adjust CNC machines as needed
- Change tooling, clamps, and vices for different jobs
- Perform offsets and properly zero machines
- Read and interpret blueprints and machining specifications
- Conduct first-piece and in-process quality inspections
- Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Produce precision components to tight tolerances
Responsibilities:
- Set up new and existing jobs for machining
- Install and adjust tooling for production runs
- Perform quality checks using correct gauging instruments
- Ensure parts meet blueprint and specification requirements
- Maintain consistent production while prioritizing accuracy
- Obtain required tooling and materials for each job
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in CNC machining, setup, or operation
- Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proficient with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover Park, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
