Our integrated team manages everything in-house from design and procurement to labor and warehousing delivering modern, functional, and durable spaces that add lasting value. As the company continues to grow and take on new projects, they are seeking an experienced Vice President of Construction to provide executive leadership across their project teams and drive successful execution company-wide.
\nThe VP of Construction Position:

In this high-impact executive role, you will own the entire project lifecycle across our portfolio—from estimating through final close-out—serving as the senior-most operational leader for our Project Directors and their teams across multiple concurrent developments. You will hold ultimate accountability for the financial health of the construction division while building and coaching a leadership bench that upholds our standards for safety, quality, and operational excellence. This position requires regular regional travel to project sites, and overnight travel will be necessary.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n- \n
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the Project Management and Design Teams, overseeing their training, hiring, performance, and succession planning, and ensuring the same standard of leadership cascades down through each project team. \n
- Portfolio Leadership & Strategy: Serve as the leader across all active projects, managing key client and ownership relationships and holding ultimate accountability for the profit and loss of the entire project portfolio. \n
- Risk Management & Quality Control: Establish and continually refine company-wide risk mitigation programs, mock-up standards, and safety checklists. Anticipate portfolio-level issues and drive proactive solutions that protect project integrity across the organization. \n
- Team Management & Organizational Development: Build a high-performing leadership bench by directly managing and developing project teams, ensuring accountability cascades effectively from the executive level down to individual project teams. \n
- Technical & Strategic Guidance: Serve as the organization’s senior technical authority on production sequencing, subcontractor crew-loaded scheduling, and labor strategy across all projects. \n
- Financial Oversight & Strategy: Own the P&L for the construction division; partner with executive leadership on budgeting and forecasting; ensure accurate, timely job cost reporting across all projects; drive productivity and cost-reduction initiatives; and translate field data into feedback that sharpens the estimating department’s bidding strategy. \n
- Warehouse & Supply Chain Operations: Oversee warehouse and materials/logistics strategy company-wide to ensure every project is adequately resourced. \n
- Safety & Compliance Leadership: Own the company’s safety program, approving all site-specific safety and security plans and driving 100% compliance with company standards and applicable regulations. \n
- Operational Excellence & Strategic Planning: Partner with company leadership to set long-term operational strategy, drive continuous improvement, and champion the adoption of industry best practices and innovative construction methods across the organization. \n
Qualifications & Abilities:
\n- \n
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred, or an equivalent combination of professional training and experience; an advanced degree is a plus. \n
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically within multifamily or commercial sectors, including at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple concurrent projects and managing other leaders. \n
- Proven track record building and developing Project Director/Project Manager teams and managing multi-project, multi-million-dollar portfolios. \n
- Software Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Procore and Microsoft Office Suite. \n
- Leadership Traits: Creative, results-oriented, and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and the executive presence to influence ownership, clients, and senior stakeholders. \n
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an adaptable style suited for boardroom, field, and client-facing conversations alike. \n
- Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen focus on accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness at a portfolio level. \n
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
\n- \n
- Combination of field and office work on a regular basis. \n
- Travel to project sites across multiple states is required. \n
- Field work involves exposure to adverse weather, loud noise levels, and high-activity construction environments. \n
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. \n
Classification & Compensation:
