Looking for your next California adventure? St. John's Regional Medical Center in beautiful Oxnard, CA is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment. Work in a supportive Women's Services department caring for a diverse patient population while enjoying the Southern California coastline just minutes away.

This position is ideal for an L&D nurse with Postpartum experience who is comfortable caring for high-risk deliveries, circulating C-sections, and floating between L&D and Postpartum as needed.

Unit Information\n

• Labor & Delivery: 7 Beds
\n
• Triage: 4 Beds + 2 Overflow Beds
\n
• Postpartum: 27 Beds
\n
• Nursery: 5 Beds
\n
• Approximately 1,545 deliveries annually (about 3 births per day)
\n

Patient Population\n

\n
• High-risk pregnancies
\n
• All gestational ages
\n
• Substance withdrawal patients
\n
• Limited/no prenatal care cases
\n
• EMT deliveries
\n
• Large Spanish-speaking population
\n
• Critical maternal/fetal cases transferred to higher level facilities when needed
\n

Required Experience\n

\n
• 2-3 years of Labor & Delivery experience
\n
• Prior travel assignment preferred
\n
• Must have Postpartum experience
\n
• Must be able to circulate C-sections
\n
• Scrub experience is not required
\n

Floating\n

\n
• L&D nurses float to:\n
  \n
  • Postpartum
  \n
  • NICU (Grower/Feeder infants)
  \n
\n
• Postpartum nurses may assist L&D or NICU within scope
\n

Schedule & Call\n

\n
• Nights: 7 PM – 7:30 AM
\n
• Every other weekend
\n
• Call is optional but preferred
\n
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
\n

Nurse Support\n

\n
• Charge Nurse every shift
\n
• Resource nurse for breaks
\n
• OB Techs assist with:\n

  • C-sections
  \n
  • Deliveries
  \n
  • Stocking
  \n
  • Patient intake
  \n
\n
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
\n
• Pharmacy available 24/7
\n
• Neonatologist & OB available on-call 24/7 (30-minute response)
