Recreation Director

This position requires good management skills, tact, sensitivity and professionalism due to constant interaction with residents and families.

Responsibilities of the Recreation Director:

  • Develop approaches/interventions to meet the psychosocial needs of residents
  • Establish rapport with Alzheimer's/Dementia care residents and their families
  • Develop and run programming ideas for residents
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with residents having dementia and appropriate therapeutic/behavioral interventions
  • Must be able to manage and work with a team
  • Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect
  • Must have a positive attitude, enthusiasm, creativity, patience, and energy

Qualifications of the Recreation Director:

  • 2 years Long-Terms Care experience
  • CTRS or ADA certified
  • Dementia Specialist or CDP preferred
  • Familiar with long-term care regulation and survey process.
  • Be able to facilitate group programs independently
  • Positive attitude and energy
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and written/reading skills
  • Valid driver's license
