We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team at The Orchards at Douglas Cove. As a premier senior living community, we are committed to providing exceptional care and services to our residents. Our Occupational Therapy team plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents, and we are excited to find a talented professional to join our team.
About the Role:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to design and implement individualized treatment plans to promote physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being. Your expertise will focus on helping residents to develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and independent living. You will identify and address physical, sensory, and cognitive deficits, and develop strategies to promote independence, self-esteem, and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify resident needs and develop individualized treatment plans
Design and implement occupational therapy programs to promote resident health, wellness, and independence
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
Provide education and training to residents, families, and caregivers on occupational therapy techniques and strategies
Conduct home assessments and recommendations for residents to promote safety and independence
Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatment plans, progress, and outcomes
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans and services
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Current licensure or certification in the state of Michigan
Minimum of 0 years of experience in occupational therapy, with a passion for working with older adults
