Tax Manager

System One is assisting a small CPA firm seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to lead tax preparation and compliance. This role focuses on preparing and reviewing individual and business returns (60% individual / 40% business), managing workflow, improving processes through automation, and overseeing a small team of tax preparers. They offer a flexible, hybrid work schedule in a collaborative, small-firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
• Manage the full tax workflow from intake to filing and delivery
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of all returns
• Supervise, train, and review work of two (2) tax preparers
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
• Develop strong relationships with clients and ensure they have positive, respectful experiences. Involved with gathering information and resolving tax-related questions

Requirements

• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required
• 4+ years of tax experience in a CPA or public accounting firm
• Strong experience with both individual and business tax returns
• Prior experience reviewing work and overseeing staff
• Proficiency with tax software and strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a small, hands-on, fast-paced environment

Salary: $85K – $120K DOE
