POLICY:

The role of the CNA is to assist the RN and LPN staff in maintaining patient comfort and hygiene. The CNA performs basic patient care activities under the direction of a licensed nurse.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist nursing in providing the activities of daily living to patients.
2. Assist nurse with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
3. Assist nurse in giving treatments and examining patients.
4. Provide personal and hygiene care.
5. Perform routine vital sign checks and documentation.
6. Assist nursing with intake and output documentation.

Requirements:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successfully completed a state approved nurse’s aide training program.
• Maintain current CPR certification.
• Must be able to safely and successfully perform job related functions per policy and procedure.
• Successfully complete annual evaluation and competencies.
