Position Summary

The Group Facilitator provides structured group counseling and psychoeducational services for clients receiving substance use disorder treatment at ASAM Level 2.1 (Intensive Outpatient) and Level 2.5 (Partial Hospitalization). The facilitator promotes recovery by guiding individuals through evidence-based treatment interventions that enhance insight, coping skills, and long-term change.

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Conduct daily or scheduled group sessions focused on substance use recovery, relapse prevention, life skills, and co-occurring issues.

 

·       Implement evidence-based practices such as CBT, MI, DBT, or trauma-informed approaches in group facilitation.

 

·       Support clients in developing individualized treatment goals in collaboration with clinical staff.

 

·       Observe, document, and report client participation, progress, and behavior to the treatment team.

 

·       Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency, state, and insurance standards.

 

·       Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning and review.

 

·       Uphold ethics, confidentiality, and professional conduct as outlined by state and federal regulations (including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2).

 

·       Deliver culturally responsive and person-centered services to meet diverse client needs.

 

Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

 

·       Missouri state licensure or credential as LPC, LCSW, PLPC, CADC, or equivalent preferred (or actively pursuing certification).

 

·       Experience facilitating substance use or mental health groups in ASAM Level 2.1 or 2.5 settings strongly preferred.

 

·       Demonstrated knowledge of addiction, recovery models, and group dynamics.

 

·       Strong communication, organizational, and crisis intervention skills.

 

Work Environment

·       Primarily conducted in a clinical treatment setting.

 

·       May include evening or weekend hours depending on program schedule.

 

·       Collaborative team culture emphasizing recovery-oriented care.
