Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Infection Preventionist to join our leadership team in a skilled nursing facility. This hybrid role supports nursing leadership while spearheading the facility’s infection prevention and control program. The ideal candidate is a licensed nurse with a strong clinical background, leadership skills, and a passion for promoting quality care and resident safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):
Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, and supervising the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department.
Support staffing, training, and evaluation of nursing personnel.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Participate in facility inspections and audits.
Address resident/family concerns and support customer service initiatives.
Monitor quality indicators and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs.
Infection Preventionist:
Develop, implement, and monitor the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) according to CDC, CMS, and state guidelines.
Conduct surveillance of healthcare-associated infections and investigate outbreaks or clusters of infections.
Educate staff, residents, and families on infection control practices.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to prevent and control infections across the facility.
Maintain records and reports in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Required: Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Florida
Preferred: Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) or willingness to obtain within 30 days
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in long-term care or skilled nursing
Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
Strong knowledge of infection control standards and epidemiology
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Working Conditions:
Full-time, on-site leadership role
Occasional evenings/weekends based on facility needs
May require participation in an on-call rotation
