Job Summary
ASPYRE of Waukegan is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and creative Activity Aide to join our team. The Activity Aide assists in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational, social, and therapeutic activities that enhance the physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being of our residents. This role helps create a positive and engaging environment while encouraging resident participation and improving quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with planning, organizing, and conducting daily activity programs for residents.
Encourage resident participation in individual and group activities.
Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
Help decorate and prepare activity areas for special events, holidays, and celebrations.
Assist with outings, entertainment, and community events.
Develop positive relationships with residents and encourage social engagement.
Maintain activity supplies and notify the Activity Director when materials need replenishment.
Document resident attendance and participation in activities.
Observe residents during activities and report any changes in condition or behavior to nursing staff.
Ensure activities are conducted in a safe, respectful, and inclusive manner.
Follow all infection control, safety, HIPAA, and facility policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director or Administrator.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in Activities, Recreation, Healthcare, Long-Term Care, or Customer Service preferred.
Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic with a passion for working with older adults.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Creative, organized, and able to lead both individual and group activities.
Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Ability to lift, bend, stand, and assist residents with mobility during activities.
Basic computer skills preferred.
