Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - Full-Time | Boston, MA 02128
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in Boston, MA. As an ADON, you will provide essential leadership support to the Director of Nursing (DON), overseeing daily nursing operations and ensuring top-quality resident care. This role is ideal for an experienced RN who excels in leadership, collaboration, and resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the DON in planning, coordinating, and managing daily nursing operations
Supervise nursing staff to maintain proper staffing levels and skill mix
Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for nursing personnel
Mentor and coach nurses and CNAs to encourage professional development and retention
Ensure care delivery aligns with CMS and Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations
Review and update resident care plans and documentation for accuracy
Oversee infection prevention and control programs
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
Serve as a clinical resource for complex care situations
Qualifications:
Active RN license in Massachusetts required
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's degree (ADN) considered with strong experience
3-5 years of clinical experience in long-term care, including 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations (CMS, 105 CMR, etc.)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in urgent situations
Schedule & Work Environment:
Full-time: Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend or on-call coverage
Work is performed in a healthcare setting with daily interaction among residents, staff, and families
