POSITION TITLE: Medication Assistant

SUMMARY: Administer routine medications to resident in accordance with State regulations.

REPORT TO: WELLNESS DIRECTOR

ESSENTIAL JOB:  Follow the assistance plan in providing services to residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Dispense all prescribed medication as ordered by the physician.

2. Maintain an accurate Medication Administration Record.

3. Maintain and count an accurate Controlled Substance Record.

4. Inform Administration of any change in a resident’s condition.

5. Follow up with pharmacy to ensure in proper and expedited delivery of all medication

6. Encourage socialization among residents.

7. Encourage and/or remind residents to participate in activities.

8.Promote activities enthusiastically to pique residents' interest.

9. Chaperone activities outside the facility when requested.

10. Monitor the health, safety, and well-being of the residents.
