Job Description
CentralCare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide full-time services at TRIPLER ARMY MEDICAL CENTER in HONOLULU, HAWAII. This is a great opportunity for CNAs to support our military and their families as federal civilian contractors.
Work in a structured clinical environment supporting patient care across ambulatory and acute care settings. This role offers meaningful experience working alongside healthcare professionals while serving a mission-driven population.
COMPENSATION DETAILS:
Pay: $20 hr
H&W: $5.09 hr
PTO: 80 hours accrued annually
SICK LEAVE: 56 hours accrued annually
HOLIDAYS: 11 paid annually
Schedule: Outpatient M-F / Hours vary;(schedule/hours vary upon assigned
nursing area)
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program
- Must possess and maintain active CNA certification
- Minimum of 1 year experience within the last 2 years in an ambulatory and/or acute care setting
- Ability to perform patient care duties within scope of practice
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Responsibilities:
- Performs nursing care and Activities of Daily living to patients whose conditions
can vary widely from those requiring normal nursing care to those requiring close
observation. - Within the established scope of practice, obtains, assists, transports specimens for
laboratory analysis and performs standard tests within scope of practice. - Applies and removes bandages, binders, simple dressings and hot and cold packs.
Assists patients in walking, moving, and changing positions and prevents
obstruction, dislodgment and unnecessary movement of drainage, suction, and
parenteral fluid apparatus. - During examinations and treatment of patients, positions and drapes patient,
selects instruments, sets up equipment and instruments and hands instruments to physician as required. Cleans wounds and applies bandages after suturing and
assists in removal of sutures, staples, and dressings. - Provides personal care to include bathing, shaving, feeding, rubbing backs, and
making equipment and supplies available to patients such as bedpans, linen, and
grooming items. Accompany patients in wheelchairs, on litters, or ambulatory
within hospital. - Makes beds and performs general maintenance duties including cleaning and
sorting supplies, instruments and equipment; reporting deficiencies in supplies
and equipment; cleaning utility rooms; handling linen according to policies; and
cleaning patient units and exam areas as needed. - Provides patient care as assigned to include documentation of nursing activities in
patients' records as appropriate. Assists with the admission and discharge of
patients and the maintenance of medical records to include filing, adding
demographic information and filling out laboratory/x-ray/EKG slips.
- May be assigned to various units including inpatient wards, clinics, or specialty departments
