FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Location: Lincoln Village Healthcare Center, Lincoln, IL
PAY: $15.00per hour
HOURS: 8:00AM - 4:30PM Every Saturday and Sunday, 6:00PM - 8:00PM Every Thursday
What We Are Looking For:The Activity Aide assists in planning, organizing, and conducting recreational and social activities that enhance the quality of life for residents. This position works closely with the Activities Director to ensure activities meet the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social needs of the residents while promoting engagement and well-being.
What You Will Do:Activity Implementation
Assist with the preparation, setup, and delivery of daily activities, programs, and special events.
Encourage resident participation and provide support to ensure all residents can engage to the best of their ability.
Adapt activities to meet the needs of residents with varying abilities and preferences.
Escort and assist residents to and from activity areas as needed.
Resident Engagement
Build rapport with residents to promote trust, participation, and social interaction.
Support individualized activity plans based on resident interests, medical needs, and care plans.
Observe and report changes in resident mood, behavior, or participation to the Activities Director.
Documentation & Compliance
Accurately record attendance and participation in activities.
Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines.
Assist in maintaining activity supplies, equipment, and activity areas in a clean and organized manner.
Collaboration
Work closely with nursing, therapy, and other departments to coordinate activities.
Participate in resident care conferences with requested.
Support and promote special celebrations, outings, and community involvement.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in recreational, therapeutic, or activity programs in a healthcare setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Creativity, patience, and a genuine interest in working with older adults.
Ability to motivate and engage residents of varying abilities.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching.
Ability to push wheelchairs and assist residents during activities and outings.
Activity Aides work throughout the facility and outdoors during events or outings. The role involves direct contact with residents, families, and staff, as well as occasional exposure to potential infectious agents.
