24 HR Residential Direct Support Professional DSP

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities or special needs, helping them achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. Your work will involve assisting clients with daily living activities, fostering their personal growth, and ensuring their rights are respected in a safe and nurturing environment.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
• Facilitate social interactions and community engagement opportunities for clients.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all resident rights are upheld.
• Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to the appropriate personnel.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in caregiving and direct support.

Skills

• Strong background in caregiving or home health services is preferred.
• Knowledge of CPR and First Aid techniques is essential for ensuring client safety.
• Experience in social work or senior care can enhance your effectiveness in this role.
• Ability to assist with cleaning tasks as part of maintaining a healthy living space for clients.
• Understanding of resident rights and advocacy is crucial for supporting client autonomy.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
