Care Professional

Neighbors Helping Neighbors is looking for a dependable and compassionate Direct Support Professional to help support adults with developmental disabilities in the Santa Barbara area.This is a flexible fill-in position for someone who is available to pick up shifts as needed. There are no guaranteed hours or set schedule, making this a great fit for someone looking for extra income, flexible work, or experience in caregiving and human services.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and companionship to clients
• Assist with community activities and daily living skills
• Help maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment
• Encourage independence and engagement
• Follow care plans and communicate with staff as needed

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable
• Experience in caregiving or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus, but not required
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and client needs

Position Details

• On-call / fill-in support staff
• Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, or overnights depending on need
• Flexible availability preferred
• Training provided
