Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented NDE Inspector to join our inspection team in the Chicago area. In this role, you will perform non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections on Structural and Piping components in an operating plant environment to identify areas of concern, and ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect Ultrasonic Thickness data on structural and piping components in accordance with ASME, API, AWS, and other applicable standards
  • Interpret inspection results and prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation
  • Work effectively in teams on-site to perform work Safely and identify opportunities to improve efficiency of inspection process
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing activities and findings
  • Perform equipment calibration and routine maintenance on NDT instruments
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams to resolve inspection discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Travel to job sites as needed for on-site inspections

Required Qualifications

  • ASNT Level II certification in Ultrasonic Thickness (certifications in additional NDE methods or industry certifications a plus)
  • Minimum 3+ years of NDT inspection experience
  • Strong knowledge of ASME, API, and AWS standards
  • Proficiency with NDT equipment and data collection tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, heights, confined spaces).
  • Experience performing inspections in an operating plant environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Weld Inspector and/or API 570 Experience
  • Level II Certification in MT, PT, RT, VT
  • Familiarity with digital inspection reporting systems
