Job Description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Client Accounting Services Specialist to manage a portfolio of clients and support the efficiency and quality of our client accounting services team. This role is ideal for a professional with at least 5 years of accounting experience, including public accounting or client-service experience, who is comfortable managing client relationships and reviewing work.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management & Accounting
· Manage and oversee accounting services for a portfolio of clients
· Maintain and review general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness
· Perform and review complex bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
· Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes
· Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
· Identify accounting issues, trends, and discrepancies and communicate recommendations to clients and senior firm staff
· Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients
Team Oversight & Efficiency
· Review work prepared by Associates for accuracy and completeness
· Provide guidance, training, and feedback to junior staff
Firm Support
· Coordinate with tax and accounting teams to support tax preparation and year-end reporting
· Coordinate with audit department and assist with GAAP compliance and implementation
· Assist with client onboarding, including system setup and process implementation
· Contribute to continuous improvement of department services and client experience
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
· 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a CPA firm or client-service environment
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
· Advanced experience with QuickBooks Online required
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reconciliations and data analysis
· Experience managing multiple clients and deadlines
· Prior experience reviewing work and mentoring junior staff
· Strong communication skills and professional client-service mindset
· Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
