OPTICAL ASSISTANT / NON-LICENSED OPTICIAN

Sabal Eye Care is seeking a friendly, reliable, and patient-focused Optical Assistant / Optician to join our growing team in Longwood. We are looking for someone who is professional, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping patients look and see their best.

Both experienced non-licensed candidates and licensed opticians are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with frame styling and lens selections
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and products
• Perform accurate measurements including PDs and segment heights
• Adjust, repair, and dispense eyewear
• Verify vision insurance benefits and explain coverage
• Check in and process optical orders
• Troubleshoot patient concerns regarding glasses and fit
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical area
• Deliver exceptional customer service and patient care

Qualifications

• Previous optical experience preferred but not required
• Florida Optician License is a plus, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Comfortable working with technology and electronic medical records
• Team player with strong attention to detail
