Job Summary
We are seeking resilient, dependable, and compassionate Direct Care Staff to join our team in Gastonia, NC. In a Level 3 setting, you are more than a caregiver; you are a vital part of a therapeutic team helping residents with significant behavioral and emotional challenges. We are looking for individuals who can maintain a calm, structured environment while mentoring residents toward positive life goals.

Weekday (2nd Shift): Sunday – Wednesday | 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Weekday (2nd Shift): Wednesday – Saturday | 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
Therapeutic Supervision: Provide high-level supervision and implement Person-Centered Plans (PCP) and behavior interventions.
Crisis Intervention: Use approved de-escalation techniques (e.g., NCI/NVCI) to manage and redirect challenging behaviors.
Life Skills Mentoring: Assist residents with daily tasks including meal prep, hygiene, and homework, while encouraging independence.
Accurate Documentation: Complete daily progress notes, incident reports, and medication logs (MARs) with high attention to detail.
Safety Maintenance: Ensure the residence remains a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all residents and staff.
Qualifications
Experience: 1+ years of experience in a Level 3 or higher residential setting, or working with MH/DD populations with behavioral challenges.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required (Associate’s degree in a human services field preferred).
Certifications: Active CPR/First Aid and NCI (North Carolina Interventions) or equivalent crisis management training is highly preferred.
Requirements: Must pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and TB test. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
