Polysomnography Technician – Wabash, Indiana
Our client is seeking a dedicated Polysomnography Technician to join their Sleep Disorders Center. This direct hire opportunity offers the chance to work with patients experiencing sleep-related breathing disorders and other sleep abnormalities while utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment in a collaborative clinical environment.
The Polysomnography Technician will perform overnight sleep studies, score polysomnographic records, maintain testing equipment, complete required documentation, and provide high-quality patient care for both adult and pediatric populations.
The schedule will be 36 hours a week, day shift, hours may vary between 7:00 AM – 7:00PM, 7:30AM – 5:00PM
This position comes with a sign on bonus of $15,000
Job Responsibilities
- Perform polysomnography testing on patients with sleep disorders.
- Score and interpret polysomnographic recordings according to established guidelines.
- Evaluate patients for sleep-related breathing disorders, seizure disorders, narcolepsy, and other sleep abnormalities.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of sleep testing equipment.
- Complete clinical documentation and clerical duties necessary for Sleep Disorders Center operations.
- Maintain compliance with departmental policies and quality standards.
- Provide compassionate patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program; or
- Completion of the A-STEP Program through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine; or
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Allied Health Education Program.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Polysomnography experience preferred.
- Six months of pediatric sleep lab experience preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- RPSGT (BRPT), SDS (NBRC), or RST (American Board of Sleep Medicine) credential required.
- Candidates without one of the above credentials must be:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the NBRC.
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCPC).
- Eligible and willing to obtain the RPSGT, SDS, or RST credential within one year of exam eligibility.
- Current Basic CPR certification required.
