Salary
Starting Salary: $70,000–$85,000 annually
Compensation is based on experience, education, and commercial construction background. Candidates with experience working for commercial specialty subcontractors, architectural millwork, interior finishes, or custom fabrication companies are highly preferred. Candidates with General Contractor experience are also encouraged to apply.
This position is intended as a long-term growth opportunity into a Project Manager role. As Project Engineers develop knowledge of the company's products, project processes, and procedures while demonstrating the ability to independently manage projects, they will have the opportunity to advance into a Project Manager position with increased responsibility and compensation.

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support the successful execution of commercial interior finish projects from contract award through project completion. This role works closely with Project Managers, production teams, CAD, procurement, field operations, architects, designers, and general contractors to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to develop a comprehensive understanding of commercial construction project management with a focus on custom interior finishes and specialty construction.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with reviewing project contracts, drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
- Prepare, organize, and track project submittals, shop drawings, samples, and product data.
- Coordinate shop drawing reviews between CAD, production, architects, and clients.
- Track project schedules, milestones, and critical deadlines.
- Review project documentation including RFIs, ASIs, bulletins, meeting minutes, and change orders.
- Prepare and process change orders while maintaining accurate project documentation.
- Assist with material procurement, vendor coordination, and tracking manufacturing lead times.
- Verify purchase orders and ensure materials are delivered according to project schedules.
- Coordinate fabrication schedules with production teams to support installation timelines.
- Prepare field installation packages and ensure crews have complete project information before mobilization.
- Monitor project costs and communicate budget concerns or opportunities to the Project Manager.
- Assist with client communication regarding project status, scheduling, and documentation.
- Maintain organized project files and update company project management systems.
- Support project closeout by coordinating punch lists, closeout documentation, warranties, and final project records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- 1–4 years of commercial construction experience preferred.
- Experience with commercial specialty contractors, interior finishes, architectural millwork, custom fabrication, or architectural specialties is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction management software is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn all aspects of commercial project management.
