Diesel Machinery Service Technician

The Ag Farm Machinery Service Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing agricultural equipment to ensure optimal performance. Working as part of a team, this technician is responsible for diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance and emergency repairs, and interacting with customers to provide exceptional service. Travel for service calls is regular within local areas, with occasional regional trips required. The technician uses a blend of hands-on mechanical skills and modern diagnostic technology to manage daily tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment repair and diagnostics on agricultural machinery
• Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems and electrical components
• Conduct engine overhauls and parts replacement as needed
• Adhere to strict safety compliance standards during all tasks
• Keep accurate service and repair records
• Engage with customers professionally and provide technical support
• Complete routine maintenance and respond to emergency repair needs
• Travel regularly for local and occasional regional service calls

Preferred and Required Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical work, preferably with several years as a service technician in the Agricultural Industry is a must
• Experience performing service repairs
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in repair process
• Proficient oral and written communications skills
• Must be able to use computer for diagnostics and repair work
• Must have good knowledge of hydraulic systems and diagnostics
• Must have good knowledge of electrical systems including CAN -BUS systems, diagnostics and repairs
• Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
• Must pass drug and alcohol screening
