We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Pipe Crew Member to join our underground utilities team in Sarasota, FL. We have multiple jobs and you may travel from Manatee to Charlotte County. In this role, you will work layout, excavation, installation, and backfilling operations for water, sewer, and storm drain systems. The ideal candidate has experience working in trenches, understands pipe alignment, and prioritizes safety above all else.

Responsibilities
- Install Infrastructure: Lay, align, and connect water mains, sanitary sewers, and storm drains.
- Maintain Grade: Assist the foreman with reading grade stakes and setting up pipe lasers.
- Secure Joints: Seal joints using glue, cement, gaskets, or specialized fusing equipment.
- Support Excavation: Guide heavy machinery operators and manually dig or grade trench bottoms.
- Ensure Safety: Install trench shields, shoring, and sloping systems to meet OSHA regulations.
- Site Maintenance: Clear debris, load/unload materials, and maintain tools and equipment.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years of underground utility or wet utility construction experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, understand grade stakes, and use pipe lasers.
- Physical Ability: Able to lift 75+ lbs, climb ladders, bend, and work in deep trenches.
- Environment: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and confined spaces.
- Requirements: Reliable transportation, and ability to pass a drug screen.
- Certifications: OSHA 10-Hour or Confined Space Entry certifications are a major plus but NOT required!!
