Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare facility specializing in behavioral health is seeking a skilled pharmacist to provide critical per diem coverage. This role supports patient care through accurate medication order entry, drug monitoring, and Omnicell system management within a behavioral health setting that includes pediatrics and detox specialty areas.
Location: Anchorage, AK (Eagle River area)
Employment Type: Per Diem
Schedule:
- Mondays, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM weekly
- August 3rd – 7th, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Possible additional weekday coverage as needed
- No weekend shifts currently required, potential on-call support
Responsibilities:
- Enter medication orders accurately using HCS Web EMR (training provided onsite)
- Perform Omnicell automated dispensing system checks via Citrix/OCRA Remote Desktop (training provided)
- Monitor drug therapies for efficacy and safety in an acute behavioral health environment
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and health staff to ensure smooth medication distribution
- Follow business casual dress code and participate in onsite training before beginning coverage
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Alaska pharmacist license required
- Experience or strong preference for acute care or behavioral health pharmacy practice
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to HCS Web EMR and Omnicell systems
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
Additional Details:
- Staff includes one pharmacist (Tues-Fri), one full-time technician, and Director of Pharmacy currently on leave
- Travel expenses may be considered for non-local candidates willing to relocate or commute
- This per diem opportunity is for approximately 8 weeks, starting ASAP, while the Director of Pharmacy is on leave
