Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures and safety protocols.
Explain procedures to patients to foster an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.
Ensure a safe and professional environment in compliance with organizational standards.
Perform daily tasks efficiently, demonstrating process excellence and confidentiality.
Assist in maintaining organized workflow within the laboratory or clinical setting.
Required Skills
Excellent phlebotomy skills, with experience in pediatric and geriatric blood collection preferred.
Strong customer service skills in a retail or service environment preferred.
Proficiency in keyboard/data entry to accurately document test information.
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail, confidentiality, and commitment to error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington; certification preferred in other regions.
Minimum of 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred.
Flexible availability to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Reliable transportation to and from the worksite is essential; personal transportation required.
Must list home city and commute time to the job site on the resume (within 20–25 minutes).
Candidates currently enrolled in school should ensure their schedules do not conflict with shifts.
