Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Baytown, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $51.00/hour

Schedule Options: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday | 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Friday-Monday | 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM

On-Call: One weekday per week and rotating weekends (required)

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support a leading healthcare system in Baytown, TX. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced imaging professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while performing advanced nuclear medicine procedures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment and demonstrate strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of nuclear medicine imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols
  • Prepare, administer, and monitor radiopharmaceuticals while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Perform patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and educate patients on imaging procedures
  • Start intravenous (IV) lines for radiopharmaceutical administration as required
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions or emergencies
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records within the electronic medical record system
  • Follow radiation safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and quality assurance guidelines
  • Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care
  • Participate in on-call coverage and support departmental workflow as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of recent Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience required
  • PET/CT experience highly preferred
  • Experience starting IVs required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Current Texas Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) license required
  • Current ARRT (N) certification or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification required
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, radiation safety, and quality assurance standards
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
