Government Contracts Associate Attorney

Washington, D.C.

Direct Counsel is seeking a Government Contracts Associate Attorney to join a top-tier national law firm in Washington, D.C.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated associate with 2–5 years of government contracts experience to join a highly regarded Litigation & Regulatory Enforcement team advising clients on sophisticated federal procurement and compliance matters.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling a broad range of government contracts issues, including:

  • Bid protests before the GAO and/or Court of Federal Claims
  • Contract claims and disputes under the Contract Disputes Act
  • Federal procurement compliance counseling
  • Internal investigations
  • Suspension and debarment matters
  • False Claims Act-related counseling
  • Advising on FAR and DFARS compliance
  • Counseling on subcontracting, flow-down obligations, data rights, and cybersecurity requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Researching and drafting bid protests, claims, and other written advocacy
  • Advising clients on contract formation, performance, and dispute strategy
  • Counseling on disclosures, audits, investigations, and enforcement matters
  • Supporting clients on regulatory risk mitigation and procurement compliance
  • Providing strategic advice regarding federal agency investigations and disputes
Qualifications
  • Meaningful experience in government contracts law
  • Strong knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency supplements, including DFARS
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong commitment to client service and teamwork
Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $235,000 – $365,000, depending on experience, credentials, and overall fit.
