Contract Respiratory Therapist – Alexandria, VA

Location: Alexandria, Virginia Schedule: Contract Assignment Experience Required: 2+ years Credentials: Active Respiratory Therapist Certification and/or License

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our clinical team in Alexandria, VA. This contract role is ideal for a clinician who delivers high‑quality respiratory care, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and maintains strong clinical judgment and professionalism.

• Perform respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer therapeutic treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, and ventilator management
• Monitor patient responses and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment safely and effectively
• Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory conditions and therapies

• 2+ years of recent Respiratory Therapy experience
• Active Respiratory Therapist Certification and/or State License (CRT, RRT, or state‑specific licensure)
• Strong understanding of respiratory care protocols, ventilator management, and emergency response
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient‑care skills
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

• Experience in acute care, critical care, or emergency settings
• Familiarity with EMR systems
