Pay Range: $39.00-46.50 per hour based on years of experience

What You Bring (Requirements)
1. Graduate from an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association, or is eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association under its requirements.
2. A minimum of one year experience as an Occupational Therapist in a long-term care facility.
3. Ability to understand medical terminology and how it applies to Occupational Therapy in order to communicate effectively with residents, staff and physicians, and to prepare meaningful reports.
4. Coordination and dexterity necessary to manipulate tools and materials while instructing residents.
5. Adequate strength and endurance to meet physical demands involved in using equipment, tools and materials while instructing residents.
6. Must be licensed or registered in state as an Occupational Therapist.
7. Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
1. Evaluates residents and provides Occupational Therapy upon the written order of the resident’s attending physician.
2. Manages and supervises the Occupational Therapy assistants and/or rehabilitation aides in direct resident/patient care and resident/patient-related activities.
3. Plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates the Occupational Therapy offered by the department (i.e.: assist with scheduling, transportation, filing, and mailing).
4. Provides Occupational Therapy to the residents upon written order of the resident’s attending physician
5. Supervises the delivery of Occupational Therapy Services on a regular basis to ensure an acceptable level of performance from Occupational Assistants.
6. Prepares and maintains treatment records with progress notes and observations
7. Participates in resident care planning conferences when needed to coordinate the care of the residents.
8. Communicate with Director of Rehabilitation and other health team members regarding resident/patient progress, problems and plans.
9. Administers personnel functions of the Occupational Therapy Department
10. Monitors monthly department expenditures to budget.
11. Performs other duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Rehabilitation.
