About This Role

Black River Area Child Care Center seeks a dedicated and compassionate Lead Childcare Teacher to cultivate a dynamic and supportive learning environment for young children. As a key member of our team, the Lead Teacher will oversee curriculum planning, classroom management, and child supervision while fostering strong relationships with families and staff. The successful candidate will be well-organized, communicative, and empathetic, with a passion for early childhood education. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.



What You'll Do

Curriculum Development & Implementation:
  • Create engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Employ a range of teaching strategies, including hands-on activities, group instruction, and individualized support.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom atmosphere.
  • Evaluate children's progress, adjusting instruction to meet their evolving needs.
Child Safety & Support:
  • Cultivate a nurturing environment where children feel secure, valued, and encouraged to grow.
  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Assist with daily care tasks, such as feeding and diapering, as needed.
Family Engagement & Partnership:
  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH FAMILIES THROUGH REGULAR COMMUNICATION AND UPDATES.
  • INVOLVE FAMILIES IN CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES AND SPECIAL EVENTS.
Team Leadership & Professional Growth:
  • PROVIDE GUIDANCE AND MENTORSHIP TO ASSISTANT TEACHERS.
  • MODEL BEST PRACTICES IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT.
  • PARTICIPATE IN STAFF MEETINGS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES.


Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and children.
  • Additional requirements to be discussed prior to first day working with children.
  • Certifications:
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).


Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with children in a educational or childcare setting.
  • CPR and first aid certifications (or a willingness to obtain).
  • The Wisconsin Registry Certificate, a bonus in a childcare setting.
