About This Role
The Teacher Assistant is a vital team member who collaborates with Teachers and the Director to foster a nurturing environment for children. This includes assisting in the planning and execution of engaging activities to enhance the quality of education and care. Effective communication, active listening, and a strong team mentality are essential skills for success in this role. By observing and documenting children's interests and progress, the Teacher Assistant provides valuable insights to parents and staff, while also contributing to the development of positive relationships within the center.
What You'll Do
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
- Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
Requirements
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Ability to work well with others.
- High energy.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- An understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
