About This Role

The Assistant Teacher is a vital member of our team, supporting Teachers and the Director in creating a nurturing environment for children and collaborating on activities that enhance the quality of education. Effective communication, active listening, and teamwork are essential in this role. Our Assistant Teachers play a key part in observing and documenting children's progress, sharing this information with parents and staff, and developing strong relationships with children and their families. Under the guidance of the Teacher and Director, they plan and implement engaging activities tailored to each child's interests and needs.



What You'll Do

  • Help implement curriculum-based activities and foster a supportive environment for children to participate.
  • Engage actively in daily activities and maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked classroom.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through informal conversations and progress updates.
  • Model self-help and good hygiene practices for the children.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from home to child care center.
  • Adhere to center policies and state regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a professional growth plan to continuously improve quality.


Requirements

  • Must earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential by December 2019
  • High energy and a strong work ethic are essential.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer proficiency.
  • A deep understanding of child development principles.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Current Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification is necessary.
  • Must undergo a thorough background check.
  • Pass a health screening prior to starting.
