About This Role

The Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Teachers and Director by fostering a nurturing and secure environment for the children and contributing to activities that enhance the overall quality of education.

This individual must possess excellent communication, listening, and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with staff in implementing a high-quality educational program and building positive relationships with children and their parents.

The Teacher Assistant is responsible for observing and documenting children's interests and progress, sharing this information with parents and staff, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities under the guidance of the Teacher and Director.



What You'll Do

  • Assist in planning and implementing curricula activities that encourage active participation from children.
  • Engage in classroom activities, maintaining a clean and well-organized learning environment, and ensuring the availability of necessary materials.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports, keeping them informed of their child's development and well-being.
  • Model and encourage good hygiene and self-help skills among children.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from home to child care center, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Comply with all center policies and state regulations, adhering to established standards.
  • Develop and implement a personal professional development plan to continually improve the quality of care and education provided.


Requirements

  • Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in professional child care.
  • High energy level is essential for this role.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team is crucial.
  • Strong communication and basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Understanding of child development principles is vital.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Certification in infant/child CPR and First Aid is mandatory.
  • Must undergo a full background check and pass a health screening.
