About This Role

We're seeking compassionate, dependable, and engaging teachers to join our team at Snug As A Bug Child Care Center in Cuba City, WI. Our center creates a safe, nurturing environment where children feel secure, valued, and encouraged to explore. Our teachers play a vital role in early development through play-based learning, consistent routines, and meaningful relationships.

Teachers work collaboratively to create engaging classroom environments where every child can grow socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. What You'll Do

Teachers at Snug As A Bug are responsible for providing attentive care and supporting children's development through engaging daily activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building a warm, welcoming, and nurturing classroom environment that fosters a sense of safety and support for children
  • Developing and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote early learning, creativity, and exploration
  • Encouraging children’s social and emotional development through positive guidance and redirection
  • Ensuring children's safety and well-being at all times
  • Assisting with daily routines, including meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and rest time
  • Modeling healthy habits such as handwashing, cleaning up, and classroom responsibility
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that meets licensing standards
  • Supporting children’s development in areas such as language, motor skills, social skills, and independence
  • Communicating children’s progress and daily experiences with families
  • Building positive relationships with children, parents, and coworkers
  • FOLLOWING ALL CENTER POLICIES AND STATE CHILDCARE LICENSING REGULATIONS
  • Participating in staff meetings, trainings, and center events as required
  • Collaborating with other teachers to maintain a positive and supportive team environment


Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to pass all required background checks according to Wisconsin childcare licensing regulations
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Dependable, patient, and compassionate when working with young children
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced classroom setting
  • Physically able to lift up to 25 pounds, sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day
  • Willingness to complete required state childcare trainings and continuing education
  • Ability to follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures


Nice To Haves

While not required, the following experience or qualifications are highly valued:

  • Previous experience working in a licensed childcare center or preschool
  • Coursework or certification in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children
  • Knowledge of child development milestones and age-appropriate learning practices
  • Experience with classroom lesson planning or play-based curriculum
  • Experience managing classroom routines and transitions
