What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
- Support children's well-being and development by providing a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and coworkers by being approachable, respectful, and responsive to their needs.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, meals, and rest periods, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with daily classroom routines and transitions, helping children develop essential skills and a sense of routine.
- Stay up-to-date on all licensing, health, and safety regulations, ensuring a compliant and safe learning environment.
Requirements
Must be certified in CPR/First Aid or complete certification within the first week of hire.
Must have completed or be willing to complete Mandated Reporter training and Vermont Orientation training within the first week of hire.
Must have a background in early childhood education, either through taking Fundamentals or a 3 credit College Course in Early Education or a related field, or by completing the coursework within 6 months of hire.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to stand and sit for prolonged periods to engage with children.
