This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the world with young children and help them get off to a great start in a culturally responsive environment. Cub Care Children's Center has been providing excellent early childhood education programs since 1998 and is a Quality Stars NY participating center with a four-star rating. We are looking for a special individual who is passionate about building early learning and social skills in young children that will last a lifetime.

What You'll Do

As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting the Lead Teacher and implementing the weekly lesson plans to help children achieve their learning goals.

  • Build on your experience working with children, demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and good communication skills with children and adults.
  • Work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher and assist in coordinating activities with other staff members.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of learning materials for the classroom.
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with families and refer them to the Lead Teacher for details regarding their child's classroom experiences.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings by bringing questions, concerns, and ideas to the group for discussions.
  • Complete a minimum of 15 hours of training/coaching annually in the required content areas as specified by the Office of Children and Family Services.


Requirements

Preferred: Associates Degree or CDA (Child Development Associate) Certificate

Min Requirement: High School Diploma and experience working with children ages 2-5


  • Part- time 30 Hrs/week 11:15am - 4:45pm or 5:45 pm
  • Health Check Required
  • Background Check Required
  • 3 References Required
  • Fingerprinting Required


Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with children ages 2-5 is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred but not required.
