About This Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated teaching team and play a vital role in shaping the early learning experiences of our young students. Our esteemed Cub Care Children's Center, a Quality Stars NY participant with a four-star rating, has been delivering exceptional early childhood education programs since 1998.
We seek a highly skilled and compassionate individual who will work collaboratively with our team to create a nurturing environment that fosters social skills, creativity, and lifelong learning. As a key member of our team, you will have the chance to contribute to the development of engaging lesson plans and activities that promote children's growth and well-being.
What You'll Do
As a valued member of our teaching team, you will possess the skills and qualities necessary to excel in this role. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating closely with the Lead Teacher to coordinate activities and ensure seamless execution of lesson plans.
- Preparing and organizing high-quality learning materials to meet the needs of our students.
- Supporting the implementation of weekly lesson plans to help children achieve their learning goals.
- Building on your experience working with children, demonstrating creativity, flexibility, and effective communication skills.
- Providing clear and sensitive communication with families, addressing their concerns and questions.
- Participating actively in regular staff meetings, bringing questions, ideas, and concerns to the group for open discussion.
- Completing required training and coaching annually to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in early childhood education.
Requirements
Preferred: Associate's degree or Child Development Associate (CDA) certification
Minimum Requirement: High school diploma and experience working with children aged 2-5
- Full-time position, 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
- Health check required
- Fingerprinting required
- Background check required
- Three references required including one from an employer, student teaching supervisor, or volunteer coordinator if possible
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with children aged 2-5 is highly valued
- CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but not mandatory
