Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Legal Secretary & Receptionist with at least 5 years of experience to join our Cranberry Township team. This role requires a professional who is comfortable handling sensitive financial discussions (bankruptcy) and emotional client interactions (personal injury) with equal parts efficiency and empathy.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Intake & Relations: Act as the first point of contact; manage a multi-line phone system and greet clients visiting our Smith Drive office.
- Bankruptcy Support: Assist in the preparation and filing of bankruptcy petitions; gather necessary financial documentation (tax returns, pay stubs, etc.) from clients.
- Legal Document Management: Draft, format, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and discovery documents for personal injury and civil litigation cases.
- E-Filing: Handle electronic filings via CM/ECF (Bankruptcy Court) and Pennsylvania's UJS portal.
- Docketing: Maintain the firm’s master calendar, tracking court dates, 341 meetings of creditors, and deposition schedules.
- Administrative Flow: Manage incoming/outgoing mail, organize digital files in our case management system, and ensure the front office operates seamlessly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5+ years as a Legal Secretary or Receptionist preferred but not required. Direct experience in Bankruptcy law is a significant advantage.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with bankruptcy software (like Best Case) or general practice management software (Clio/MyCase) is preferred.
- Interpersonal Excellence: Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with clients facing financial distress or physical injury.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the local court systems in Butler and Allegheny Counties.
- Detail Oriented: High level of accuracy in data entry and document proofing.
