Job Title: Assembler
Job Description

This role involves assembling and packaging small mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components used in elevator doors, walls, and related subassemblies. You will work on an assembly line using hand and power tools, follow detailed instructions and drawings, and ensure all products meet quality and safety standards before shipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and pack a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and fabricated elevator components.
  • Perform all operations required to assemble, align, and pack elevator subassemblies and assemblies within allocated time standards while maintaining quality specifications.
  • Work from manufacturing information, SAP data, COE sheets, engineering drawings, blueprints, and written and oral instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as tape measures to perform precise assembly work.
  • Pick and pack parts and components for shipment, ensuring correct identification, labeling, and packaging of completed assemblies.
  • Perform kitting activities by gathering and organizing parts and materials needed for specific assemblies.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and diagrams to understand component placement and assembly steps.
  • Maintain all required records and documents related to production, quality, and packaging activities.
  • Follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working in the shop.
  • Handle materials and products safely, including lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Basic mechanical assembly experience or strong mechanical inclination.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Basic blueprint reading skills for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Experience with assembly line work in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ability to perform picking, packing, and kitting tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Comfort working with mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during the shift.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturing information and engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality specifications and production timelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience using SAP or similar manufacturing information systems.
  • Previous experience in a clean manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Familiarity with COE sheets and production documentation.
  • Prior experience with electrical assembly or working with electrical components.
  • Comfort working in a moderate-noise production environment.
  • Willingness to work either 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.) or 2nd shift (2:30 p.m.–10:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday.

Work Environment

The position is based in a fairly clean manufacturing facility with moderate noise levels typical of an assembly and production setting. Work is performed on an assembly line using hand and power tools, tape measures, and other standard shop equipment. The schedule offers consistent hours on either 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.) or 2nd shift (2:30 p.m.–10:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday. While in the shop, you must wear steel-toed boots, long pants, and safety glasses at all times to comply with safety requirements. The environment emphasizes organization, safety, and adherence to production and quality standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.
