The CNC Machinist will operate and oversee prep machines in a new machine shop environment, ensuring accurate loading, setup, and inspection of parts. This role requires 2–3 years of machine operator experience and offers significant autonomy while supporting a small, collaborative production team.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC prep machines safely and efficiently in a new machine shop setting.
- Load raw materials and components into machines according to production requirements.
- Set up machines, verify proper tooling, and adjust settings to meet specifications.
- Monitor machine operations and oversee the machining process from start to finish.
- Inspect finished parts using appropriate inspection methods to ensure quality standards.
- Identify and report any equipment or quality issues promptly to maintain smooth production.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with shop standards.
- Collaborate with a small production team to meet daily and weekly output goals.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating machinery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in processes and workflows within the machine shop.
- 2–3 years of machine operator experience in a machine shop environment.
- Hands-on experience operating CNC or similar production machinery.
- Ability to perform basic inspection of machined parts for accuracy and quality.
- Strong attention to detail when loading, setting up, and monitoring machines.
- Ability to follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety protocols.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine shop operations.
- Reliability and consistency in meeting production and quality expectations.
- Effective communication skills for working with a small production team.
- Experience working in a new or growing machine shop environment.
- Comfort with taking ownership of work and operating with a high level of autonomy.
- Willingness to support process improvements and adapt to evolving production needs.

Work Environment
The role is based in a new machine shop operating with a small production team of approximately 2–3 people, encouraging close collaboration and clear communication. Standard working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a consistent daytime schedule. The environment is production-focused, with active machinery and routine inspection of parts. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety, and employees are expected to follow all shop safety and cleanliness standards while working in the facility.
