We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fork Lift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the professional and accident-free operation of a forklift, ensuring systematic maintenance and cleanliness, as well as tracking the location of goods using our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Responsibilities
- Operate the forklift professionally and accident-free, while keeping precise records of forklift inspections.
- Maintain and clean the forklift systematically.
- Track the location of goods during material handling using WMS and ensure accurate data entry.
- Perform additional manual tasks as directed by the warehouse supervisor or team lead, such as sampling inventory and cleaning.
- Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse environment.
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of transport vehicles during the seed delivery and return season, meeting customer expectations.
- Maintain safety standards and initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
Essential Skills
- Ability to count accurately when moving inventory.
- Proficiency in reading scales.
- Ability to multitask and maintain a detail-oriented approach.
- Alertness and awareness when driving the forklift safely.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Capability to operate the forklift in confined spaces.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1 year of forklift experience preferred.
- 1 year of warehouse experience preferred.
- Prior forklift certification is preferred.
- Experience with sit-down forklifts, unloading, and loading tasks.
- Pass a check and other pre-employment screenings.
- Reliable transportation to the work site.
- Maintain enthusiasm, good attitude, honesty, and a willingness to treat everyone with respect.

Work Environment
Work shifts vary between 8 or 12 hours depending on the season, with rotations every 8 weeks between day and night shifts. Shift differentials include $2 for hours worked between 2:00-10:30pm and 10:00pm-6:30am. Work hours are from 6:00am to 6:30pm and 6:00pm to 6:30am.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Woodhull, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
