Direct Support Staff work with the individuals with disabilities in the individuals' home and in the community. Your main job is to create opportunities for the individuals to increase their quality of life.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Companionship
• Meal Preparation
• Housekeeping
• Medication reminders
• General assistance around their home
• Running errands with the individuals
• Engaging in activates like games, memory books, and light exercise
• Personal care assistance (bathing, dressing & grooming)
• Assist in developing life skills by following program guidelines

What do you need to apply?

Qualifications:

• Compassionate, reliable and provide excellent care
• High school graduate or G.E.D
• At least 6 months of paid experience, or 1 year of unpaid experience caring for others
• Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
• Have good judgment and able to handle crisis situations
• Possess a valid driver's license, and have use of an insured automobile
• At least 18 years of age
